Some Patients have an insurance company or third party payer providing funding for their sessions, and Nookal offers the perfect tool to manage it all.
See below how to set up the different options to save valuable time and keep track of Patient Funding easily.
Creating Patient Funding Categories
Patient Funding allows assigning a budget to a Payer in a Case and breaks down the amounts based on Billing Categories if required.
1. Head to the Setup section.
2. Click Advanced under Extensions.
3. Enable Patient Funding and click Configure.
4. To create Billing Categories for items, click Add Category.
5. Type the Category name and click Add.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each Category that needs to be created.
7. Click Save.
Enabling Items for Patient Funding
Services, Classes, Inventory and Passes can now be enabled for Patient Funding.
1. Go to Setup > Items > Services.
2. Click on the Service to open the details page.
3. In the Integrations section, ensure Enable Integrations is selected, and tick the “Enabled” box next to Patient Funding.
4. Click Save Changes.
5. Repeat for all items as relevant.
6. Once the items are enabled, go back to Setup > Extensions > Advanced > Patient Funding to see the items enabled for Patient Funding.
7. Attribute the Billing Category for each Item as required from the drop-downs.
8. Click Save.
Once Patient Funding is enabled in the account and categories are saved, a budget can be attributed to a Payer when adding them in a Case.
Any Items already attributed a Category will have that Billing Category applied by default upon invoicing.
