In order to submit claims to Medicare and DVA via the Medicare/DVA Integration, you will need to Register as an Organisation, Connect any claiming Providers to your Organisation, set up your B2B Device in PRODA and link this to Nookal. This guide explains how to get this setup and ready to use.
Before you begin!
To add your B2B Device to Nookal, you need to have the Medicare/DVA integration enabled and setup. You can view our guide on how to Set Up Medicare/DVA Online Claiming here.
Register your business as an organisation with PRODA
Important!
You must have a PRODA Account to complete the following setup. If you have not yet registered for a PRODA account, you can go to the PRODA website to create one.
If you have not registered your business as an organisation in PRODA, you can follow the Services Australia guide to do so here How to register an organisation
Please note:
a. All businesses, including sole traders, need to register as an organisation.
b. You must be the authorised contact for the business or an associate to register your organisation.
Connecting Service Providers In PRODA
1. Login to your PRODA Account, then Click on Organisations in the top-right of the page.
2. Select the Organisation you wish to use.
3. Select Service Provider, then select Add Service Provider.
4. From the list presented, select Medicare Online/ECLIPSE/DVA/AIR, then select the Add Service Provider at the bottom of the list.
5. Click Next, then click Finish.
6. When presented with the option: Has your organisation been issued with a PKI site certificate by us? Select No.
7. You can then Add your Minor ID/location ID into the PRODA form.
Important!
The Location ID (Minor ID) can be found in the Medicare setup (Setup > Connections > Integrations > Medicare/DVA Online Claiming), next to the name of the Group for the appropriate Location.
8. When complete, Medicare Online will show on your PRODA homepage under My Linked Services.
Adding Multiple Minor IDs to a Service Provider
After you've linked Medicare Online as a Service Provider, it's possible to add Multiple Minor IDs to that same Service Provider.
1. Go to the Services section in your PRODA Account.
2. Under My Linked Services click on Medicare Online.
3. Click Add New Identifier.
4. When presented with the option: Has your organisation been issued with a PKI site certificate by us? Select No.
5. Enter your Minor ID into the Identifier field.
6. Click Next.
7. Confirm the Verification of relationship for the new Minor ID by clicking Next.
8. Click Finish.
9. Repeat for any further Minor IDs and then move on to the below steps.
Setting up your B2B Device - PRODA
In order to process requests from Nookal to Services Australia, we need to validate requests via a linked B2B Device on your PRODA account. Setting up a B2B Device requires the following steps:
1. Go to the Organisations section in your PRODA Account.
2. Go to the B2B Devices section, and Click on Register New B2B Device.
3. Enter a Device Name. For ease of use, we recommend adding a device name containing the word ‘Nookal’. You can also add a Description, this is Optional and only for internal use.
Then Select Register Device.
4. Once you have registered your device, you will receive your Device Activation Code.
Don’t lose this! You will need to use this to connect Nookal to your PRODA account.
You have now completed all the steps required for the setup in PRODA. Next is to enter these Device details into your Nookal Account
Setting up your B2B Device - Nookal
1. Go into Setup.
2. Select Integrations under Connections.
3. Find the Medicare/DVA integration and select Configure.
4. Select the PRODA Settings Tab.
5. Select Add B2B Device.
6. Enter your Organisation ID, Device Name and Activation Code that you received when setting up your B2B device in PRODA. Then click Add B2B Device.
7. If successful, you will be presented with the PRODA device details and status.
Hot Tip!
Your B2B Device will display the status of Awaiting request to be sent until a Medicare Card is Verified, or a Claim is Submitted.

If required, specific B2B Devices can be added per Minor ID.
To do this, follow steps 5 - 6 above to add multiple B2B Devices.
When done, you can go back to the Claiming Groups tab and select the correct PRODA Device per Minor ID.
Extending your B2B Device - PRODA
If your B2B device expires, you will need to Extend the B2B Device Expiry in PRODA.
1. Login to your PRODA Account, and select Organisations on the top-right of the page.
2. Select the Organisation you wish to Extend the B2B device for.
3. Go to your B2B Devices, and select the B2B device you wish to Extend the expiry for.
4. On the Device Details Page, select the Extend B2B Device Expiry button to increase the expiry date for this device
Your B2B Device Expiry will now be extended. Nookal automatically checks for B2B Expiry Updates once a day.

After successfully setting up your B2B Device, Online Claiming Settings and receiving confirmation from Medicare that they have processed your HW027 form/s you are ready to start Submitting Online Claims for Medicare and DVA.
